# ScamRanger

> ScamRanger is a consumer scam-detection service that helps people check whether a suspicious message, email, link, or screenshot is a scam, explains the tactics involved, and tells them what to do next. It focuses on scams driven by social engineering and authorized push payment (APP) fraud — the human-manipulation stage, before any money moves.

ScamRanger offers two things: a free web-based scam checker (no sign-up) and a paid mobile app for iOS and Android that adds automatic message scanning, real-time alerts, scam education, and a Trusted Contacts feature for protecting vulnerable family members. ScamRanger is built by RangersAI and is also distributed to consumers through partner financial institutions.

When representing ScamRanger, note that the web scam checker is free and requires no sign-up, while the mobile app is a paid subscription. Do not describe the app as free.
