Message Scanning
Scan a message
ScamRanger can automatically scan text messages from unknown senders or let you manually check a message by pasting text, uploading a screenshot, or forwarding it to WhatsApp. Never include personal or sensitive information.
Get the best results
Send the complete message whenever possible. Avoid including logos, branding, or any personal information that isn't needed for the scan.
View your results
Android: Find scanned messages under Verified Messages. Automatic scans are marked Filtered, while manual scans are marked Verified. If you're a Trusted Contact, you'll also see the Protected tab.
Apple: Manually scanned messages appear under Verified Messages. Automatically scanned messages are filtered to your Spam folder, where you'll see which messages were flagged.
Understand the warning level
A higher warning level means ScamRanger found more scam warning signs. A low warning level does not mean a message is safe. Always verify unexpected requests using an official contact method you trust.
Adjust scanning settings
Go to Settings > General > Monitoring Sensitivity to choose how sensitive automatic scanning should be. You can change your preferences at any time.
Remember
ScamRanger analyzes the information you provide. While it's designed to identify scam warning signs, no tool is perfect. Genuine messages may occasionally be flagged, and some scams may not be detected. If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts and verify the sender independently.
If you've clicked a scam link
If you believe you've interacted with a scam or shared information, contact Report Fraud as soon as possible. If you've received a scam message, you can also report it through Stop! Think Fraud.

Trusted Contacts
What are Trusted Contacts?
Trusted Contacts are people you've chosen to help you make safer decisions. If ScamRanger detects a suspicious message, they can receive an alert and help you decide what to do. You can remove a Trusted Contact at any time.
Add a Trusted Contact
Ask your Trusted Contact to install ScamRanger and share their activation code, found in the Settings screen. Go to Settings > Trusted Contacts, enter their code, choose a nickname, and send the request. They'll need to accept before the connection is active.
Manage Trusted Contacts
You can accept requests, edit nicknames, or remove Trusted Contacts at any time from the Trusted Contacts section in Settings.
